Boston charity books Spark emcee for fundraiser

Boston, MA — For the second year in a row, the Greater Boston Food Bank has booked Spark emcee Andy Saks to serve as master of ceremonies for its signature fundraising event, the Greater Boston Food Bank Festival.

The Festival will take place on April 26, 2017, at the GBFB headquarters in Boston.

Spark master of ceremonies Andy Saks will emcee GBFB’s annual Festival fundraiser.

The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country. Toward that end, it works to acquire, store, organize and distribute food through local food pantries, community meal programs, homeless and residential shelters, youth programs, senior centers, and day-care centers embedded in communities throughout the nine counties of eastern Massachusetts.

As the event’s master of ceremonies, Saks is tasked with anchoring the event and increasing fundraising. Responsibilities include:

  • delivering the event welcome speech
  • introducing event speakers
  • introducing the live auction
  • Explaining the Fund-a-Meal program
  • keeping guests updated on fundraising totals
